I think much depends on where in these countries you would study. I'm quite fond of Canada in general. You could study in English at McGill and still have plenty of opportunity to pick up French while living in Montreal. Vancouver is a gem of natural beauty with lots of things to do outdoors. But I would probably get bored in Winnipeg (aka Winterpeg) or London, Ontario after a few months. Similarly, some university towns in Germany aren't the most exciting, but distances are smaller to occasionally get away. The Australian dollar is strong right now. But if it drops sharply during your studies, you could possibly feel a little pain in Norway or Sweden.
