6 weeks. Is it enough? Is it too much? Should she have gotten community hours?

Thanks "Skye" for the cordial and incredibly well thought-out response.

If you notice I haven't actually stated my feelings on the matter, you sound like you may need some sort of sedative so you stop foaming at the mouth...

She should be institutionalised. She must be very sick, or too irresponsible - like a drug addict or something - to raise children. She is dangerous either way.

YES you moron. And she should have her kids taken away and never be allowed to have animals again!!! What a stupid horse's ***! What a question! That is the kind of person who would but her kids in a car, strapped in their safety seats and drive them into the Thames to drown!!! "Because the cat scratched her??" Is this the way people in Britain treat their pets? What a thing to wake up to...how do you think that poor animal felt? 6 months plus community service at an animal shelter cleaning up the kennels and only supervised visitation wit her kids...where she can't have access to a washing machine...one of the kids might accidentally kick, bite, scratch, or even drool on her and WHAM!!! she stuffs the kid into the washer and hits HOT wash!!!
How old, by the way are her kids? Where is the dad? Just waiting for Fluffy to come out of the spin cycle???
I can't believe you could ask that question.

This woman should not be allowed to have ANY pets. And now that I think of it....if she has any children, the state should watch her very closely also. Community service at an animal shelter might help her understand what she has done, that is if she's got any love in her heart. I doubt she is just stupid. She is just a cruel woman.

That really sounds more like something a child would do. Perhaps she was covering for one of her children. At least I hope so. Anyone who is purposely cruel to an animal should be punished. There are alot of sick people in this world. I'm not sure six weeks would be enough.

You should not get jail time for placing a cat in a washing machine. It's animal cruelty. One time should be enough. Two times, then maybe a little time. But seriously, there are murderers on the streets. So, send a message...don't kill cats but murder people.

She should of gotten a lot longer because that is an extremely stupid and cruel act. Unfortunately people all over the world don't get what they deserve in animal cruelty situations.

6 weeks is not long enough for such a horrible act! She should have maximum community service at a local animal shelter and never allowed to have pets again.

She deserved it, she should've been charged fines for animal cruelty as well. I believe that people in the United States suffer heavier penalties than that for animal cruelty , a few months in the can plus fines on top of that.

Did she do it on purpose?? I accidentally dried my cat once. I did not know she wasin the dryer and I had tennis shoes in the load - thought the thumping was theshoes - she didn't howl or anything,. When I pulled her out I was horrified - ran crying and laughing at the same time to my brother - iI was hysterical
