Lynda Carter was famous as Wonder Woman but there's a movie (I'm sure it's from before 1990) which I want to see again but I can't remember much from it.
I think at the intro of the movie, she's a singer wearing a black strapless dress and something happens a little later and she puts on a bath robe over it (I can't remember why) and that's all I remember.
I want to know the name of that movie because it inspired my singing career as a young woman.

That was Bobbie Jo and the Outlaw. Lynda Carter plays an aspiring country music singer in it. She ends up running off with a guy who is a criminal. Kind of like a different version of Bonnie and Clyde. It came out in 1976.

Anyway, here's some more info on it.

If that isn't the right film, here's another link with her whole filmography:

I believe this is the movie you are looking for. There are only two actresses that have really shocked me. The first was hearing Barbara Eden sing jazz...the second was hearing Lynda Carter sing...period. What unbelievable voices these two women have.
First link takes you to movie...second link takes you to page with all her movies...just in case I am wrong.

The Last Song (1980) (TV)
Besides being the reluctant heroine, at first all Brooke wanted to do is get out of town with her young daughter and away from the hit men, Brooke also had a chance to sing the title song "The Last Song" in the film.

She played the lead role in "Rita Hayworth: The Love Goddess (1983) (TV)".

Rita Hayworth was of course a famous singer way back when.

If not that, perhaps "Born to Be Sold" (1981) made for TV movie?
She was credited as a singer in the show.
