Yes, you may need to delay the closing on your new house or get a bridge loan if you don't have the down payment without first selling your old home. Unless your last name is Gates, in which case, go ahead and buy a few houses!

It's probably a good idea to start looking for one even though yours hasn't sold yet. Just because you are looking, doesn't mean you have to buy just yet.
Sometimes you can work out the timing so that you buy the one when the other house sells. A good real estate person should be able to help you out in that regard.

Totally!! The Real Estate market has been weird latley there are people who have nice houses and haven't sold in a year!! But still you need to look for a new house because it may be hard to find in your area that you would like to live in.

Definitely. Even if the house you like is off the market by the time you sell, you'll have a better idea of what you want when it comes time to buy. But don't buy until your house is sold--the last thing you need is two mortgage payments!

YES! Even put an offer on a new house before yours is even listed. Just make it a condition on the purchase of the new house, that yours must be sold first. Talk to a real estate agent, they'll give you the scoop on all of it.
