Not true. And soda/pop/soft drinks are *not* minerals, either. They are just drinks.

What you take in through your mouth goes into your *digestive* system. Reproduction takes place in your *reproductive* system. The two are separate. You cannot "wash out" a pregnancy. Even if you could, a fertilized egg couldn't possibly know the difference between water and soda...

That was rude for someone to say that you're weird when you're only asking a question. There are a lot of "old wive's tales" that are just stories that are untrue.

There is no harm in taking carbonated beverages while trying to conceive. Some women just take longer to get pregnant than others. It would be best to limit your caffeine if you are trying to get pregnant, but Miranda and Fanta have no caffeine, so shouldn't be a problem at all. Carbonated beverages do not harm early pregnancy or cause a risk to a baby.

Just eat healthy... try to relax... and if you are not able to become pregnant after 6 months of trying, then see a doctor to see if they can assist you. Good luck :)

While carbonated beverages will not "flush out" pregnancy and are okay in moderation, it is important to limit your caffiene intake or preferably to drink no caffiene at all.
Also, folic acid is vital to the growth and developmant of a babys brain and intake should be upped BEFORE conception. Orange juice is an easy source of folic acid.
Calcium is another mineral that is imperative to the health and growth of your child, as well as to milk production in the woman if breast feeding is the goal. While calcium can be obtained through other sources, milk does remain the easiest and most conveneint way to get enough calcium. However, the carbonation in soft drinks contains phosphoric acid which can actually rob your body of calcium and drinking these beverages cuases more calcium to be excreted in your urine and less to be absorbed by yours-or the babys- body.
Water intake need also be upped during pregnancy. It is generally reccomended that a woman hoping to concieve make the dietary changes associated with pregnancy before conception, so you should also be drinking plenty of water already.
In short, the more soda and soft drinks you consume, the less water milk and other healthy beverages you are consuming and the more potental damage to your heatlth and the babies health.
If you must drink a carbonated beverage, try to severely limit the amount to no more than 1-2 a day. Or, if you can't, try to substitute carbonated water for your pepsi.
Remember, your healthy choices are more important to yours and your future childs health than a few minutes of taste bud pleasure.

no soft drinks have nothing to do with it it is the timing or when you and your partner are trying to make the baby. . .go get some ovulation testers to see when your ovilating so that you can have a better chance of conciving. . .good luck!!!

It's best to limit your caffeine intake when pregnant or trying to conceive. You probably don't have to eliminate it totally though.
