Wimbledon happens every year, my friend, and the world cup happens only every 4 years. I think you should learn to relax a little.

If you mean 'why' the hell is tennis on TV - it's because it is the start of the Lawn Tennis Championships, more commonly known as Wimbledon as that's where it is played.
This is the most highly regarded tennis championship in the world, the one everyone wants to win - and in my opinion knocks the World Cup into a cocked hat.

It just so happens that they coincide this year. So BOTH are on, you are not missing the world cup because of the tennis, and the tennis fans are not missing out because, as usual, the BBC are putting the tennis on BBC2 while the world cup matches are on BBC1.

i know man. why does everybody all of a sudden start talkin about tennis? im tryin to see whats up with the world cup, and everybody's talkin about wimbledon, man. who the hell cares about tennis right now. finish the world cup and then lets watch tennis.

Because not every one is interested in football, they need to cater for others as well. Besides football is ALWAYS on, after the world cup we a that bloody thing with all those football clubs, Man u, Chelsea, west ham etc.

Coverage of the tornaments at Queens (men) and Eastborne (ladies) were on Eurosport as was Roland Garros (french Open). It sucks if you don't have satalite though. When there was no World Cup they could all be found on the BBC!

Wimbledon is on!!! and lots of people would rather watch that than football. Lots of people can also string sentences together.
