Use something that will freeze it quickly. Butane is good. Oxygen too. The stuff you get for cleaning your computer keys etc. Once it is frozen it will crack apart, vacume it up. The other thing to do is to shave off the carpet the gum is stuck to, then from another area shave off some clean carpet and crazy glue it on. You'l never know.

If you have a Dollar General Store in your area, go buy so MP60. It is located by the washing detergent/stain remover. It comes in a bowl like butter and is like the consistency of butter. Use it and work it into the carpet. Gum should come right out. I have used it and it worked well for me. The great thing is it COSTS only $1.00.

2 things have worked well that were passed down to me...

1.) Hold ice cubes on it until the gum freezes, then remove.

2.) Use lighter fluid. It will soften it and partially dissolve the gum, then use a hard bristled toothbrush to brush it out.

Good luck.

Place an ice cube on it. When frozen, it should be brittle an be able to be picked out of the carpet.

When I was a teenager, some idiot thought it was cute to put gum in my hair. The school nurse put some peanut butter on it, and it slipped right off!

Rub it with ice and pick it off a speck at a time. It is tedious but it does work.
