Cronus had killed his Father( in some stories it's just maimed) at the behest of his mother, Gaea. She wanted Cronus to free her other sons The Cyclops. However, he did not, and after a negative prophecy, in which his son would too kill him, he took to swallowing his children. These were Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Posiden, and Hades. However, Cronus's wife managed to hide their last child, Zeus. Zeus later went on to free his siblings, as well as his uncles, and declared war on the Titons, though a few, like Prometheus, joined Zeus's side.
