In these interferences in the affairs of other nations we end up losing thousands of precious American lives with additional thousands of casualties. In addition, we pour billions of dollars of taxpayers monies down the drain in these unfortunate engagements. The egos of our nations presidents seem to be the driving force, that is making a name for themselves in history books.

The additional details you've added underneath your question say it all really.

America is an imperialist nation that invades others for its own gain. It gives nothing of substance in return (money, sure, but that's a passing nothing). America's culture is less than whatever went before - its cheap and self-centred, consumerist and corrupt. Look what it did to the people of Indochina, with a long and glorious history and a deep seated sophisticated culture blown into extinction by the vileness of the American way. In another manner the Philippines has been made into an American clone, but devoid of America's wealth, the reality of American 'civilisation' comes to the fore - corruption, poverty and superciality.

Yet, in delivering less to all the people it subjugates, America has paid a high price. It has lost so many of its sons to pointless (and disastrous) war and lost the respect of the rest of the World. Even its traditional and most loyal allies are horrified by the monstrosity of Iraq - a war fought on a lie and solely about securing the oil fields before they fall to the greater Islamic 'nation'. A nation created by America which has for generations, regarding Islam as evil and acted accordingly - depriving proud people across a huge geographic swathe of the earth the same rights and opportunities as the rest of us (while caring for the Israelis of course). American bias has generated a huge army of passionate dissidents bent on destroying the great Satan. America did this. America continues to fan the flames by its actions in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Palestine. America is blind to all cultures but its own.

America does not understand any way but the American way - in this arrogance lie the seeds of its downfall, nurtured by George Bush and flowering nicely now.

As you suggest, Bush is seeking his place in history. He has it, but he will be portrayed as one more of a string of presidents that took America (obsessed with its own power and Christian authority) into a dark abyss. An all-conquering America determined to make the rest of the World its slave. I suspect history will record that America failed in this venture - and paid a heavy price.

Yes will we ever learn, good question. Why do we consistantly harp, nag and whine as a country when we are at war now.
Why do news outlets, decide they know better then the people that do.

If you did this during the 1860's, you went to jail. If you did this during 1940's you were ridiculed. But nowadays, petty little people, like to cry out 'make love not war'.

You are all such ignorant little children. There is true evil in this world. We cannot continue to turn our backs to it and hope the breadth of the oceans will protect us from it, 9/11 should have taught you that. What possible benefit is it to sit back here, and wait to be attacked again, when we can take it to our enemies?

There is a reason simple sayings are told over and over again. The best defense IS a good offense. Even for the idiots who say there were no terrorists in Iraq before we got there, do you have any idea of bad a arguement that is? You are essentially giving credit to Bush (rightfully so in my opinion) of figuring out a way to get all these terrorists to flock to our MILITARY, with all our BIG GUNS, and fight us in a desert. Rather then sneaking around in this country flying planes into our buildings. There were of course terrorists in Iraq which does not diminish the brillance of the tactic, it just amuses me that the libs argue in such a way to actually make the President look better then he even is.

Ours is a world governed by the aggressive use of force. So the question is now, shall we attack? or shall we be, attacked? For over 30 years Islamic militants have declared war on us, for 30 years we did nothing. USS Cole, the first trade center bombing, embassy bombings, hijackings, we let it all go unpunished. We did the good liberal thing, and turn our cheek, we let it go. If we show them we mean them no harm, they won't be mad at us anymore people said. Ask the families of the 3000 dead people in the trade center, how well THAT plan worked.

Recently I was reading some history that showed how the British, the Ottoman Empire, and before them the Persians all tried to establish themselves in "Arabia" and we know today they all failed. The Middle Easterners are a proud and stubborn people who do not want to be controlled. Pres Bush should have called in about 20 historians for a conference before we went to war and maybe that "brain trust" could have made alternate suggestions about how to handle Iraq.

And to speenth (below), have you asked the Bosnians if they minded American intervention to save them from sure death at the hands of the Serbs? No monetary gain to America, there!

If we didn't go to Iraq..and Saddam hit the east coast of the US with a nucular bomb (like he said he wanted too) you liberals would be asking why didn't Bush do something to Iraq?
History does repeat itself. In the 1930's liberals argued that we should stay out of the European conflict with Germany..it's been estimated that if we would have acted sooner Perle Harbor would not have happened and we could have saved as many as 4 million Jewish lives!

THINK..don't fall for the liberal lie's!!!!!!

You are only a young country couple of hundred years or so. As you know already the young don't listen to advice very often , rebel against their elders advice, and generally think they know better than everyone else(rest of the world). One day hopefully..!
