I ve been to the Philippines a few times and love the Filipinas.
Manila is an over populated polluted big city.
Go to Angeles City or Cebu.
Yes they are open and not desperate, but many will want to marry you so make it clear up front that you arent interested in that right now and leave it open.
I been with many "regular" girls as well as whores from the bars, while the whore thing may not appeal to you its very different in the Philipinas and Thailand as well. They are very poor countries, and the cultures are very different. Its not considered "bad" nor are the girls looked down on. I am a filipina and i am from southern part of Philippines, in Davao city and I would say no, if you want to be sure. I have stayed in Manila for a year and a half to wait for my visa and it's not a good place esp if you are in a vacation. The traffic is really bad, crime rate is very high, much more expensive, plus the pollution and the prostitution is really high. Olongapo and Angeles City are one of those that are very famous for prostitution. Go to rural areas if you want to find girls that are not "exposed" yet i would say to material things.You don't have to fly to Visayas or Mindanao because even those places have cities. Just be away from cities period. there are lots of provinces in Philippines, nice beaches. I suggest that you joined dating sites like www.blossoms.com or www.filipinaheart.com those are good sites but again you still have to be careful. you can meet many filipinas all throughout Philippines with those sites and become acquinted with some of them so that when you finally visit Philippines you already have some friends to visit to and that makes it even more exciting isn't it!?

Thailand is the best place in Asia and I'm not referring to prostitutes. Go to any disco in Bangkok and there are dozens of single girls. Plus Thailand is a very inexpensive place to stay
