i already checked the breaker box and flipped the switches to no avial, then i tried to change out some fuses because of them look burnt, but turns out they work anyways i just dont get how this could happen over night like this, it was raining last night, but we already got hit with lightning last month, i plugged the fridge to a different outlet and it works, thank god, but now i got yelled at cause he thinks it will blow another fuse, all but 2 outlets in the kitchen are fried, and for some unknown reason the over head light still works. please help.

First check to see if a circuit breaker ( or fuse if the house is old) is tripped or blown. If not you most likely are going to need an electrician.
If you have an electric stove, it is a different circuit than the refrigerator (Electric stoves are 220, refrigerators are 110) A gas stove with an electric ignition system will be 110 so it could be on the same circuit.
Right now, if the fuse is good, get a heavy duty extension cord. Run that to your refrigerator, from a working outlet!
Have your wiring checked by a qualified electrician. Bad wiring can cause a fire.

Check your breaker box....if any of the breakers are "off" Flip them back on...If that doesnt work then you may have a wiring problem at the outlets that do not work...Worst case scenario, your fridge and stove are fried which is very unlikely. Id check the breaker box first....Dont worry...it is not dangerous...just flip the switches all into the on position. That is likely going to be 99% of your problem. You can also reset all the breakers by flipping the main breaker off....turning all the small breakers on and then turning the main breakers back on again. If none of that works....you have an interior wiring problem or your stove and fridge are damaged somehow, but I doubt it.

Check breakers or fuses. you may need a tester for this as physical inspection is not always a good way to test. These outlets may also be fed from a GFCI that has faulted Or tripped,
check for GCFI around the house. Another symptom is if lightening
hit you or near you there may of been a bad splice in the wiring
that opened up during that reaction. The best advice is to call a QUALIFIED LICENSED ELECTRICIAN to troubleshoot

My parents had the exact same problem. A huge tulip poplar got hit right beside the house, and screwed up the electrical circuitry. You're right, it doesn't necessarily take out everything, and there was no rhyme nor reason for what got zapped. If it isn't just a blown breaker, you're going to need to call an electrician.

Check the circuit breaker. See if one of the kitchen switches is popped, and switch it back on. If they are all OK, call an electrician, eat as much perishable food as you want and give the rest to neighbors or go get coolers full of ice. Good luck!

Check your cir cut breaker for a tripped switch, if that doesn't work get a heavy duty extension cord for the fridge and use the microwave instead of the stove.

Check the circuit breakers. If that's not it, lightning probably got them. Get someone who knows electricity to check your breaker box.
