I want to know whether its true or people are just making it up. If its true, why is it still like that? I had that some teams from Africa were complaining that the Germans were not treating them fine!!

There exists major racial tension & racial disharmony in new Germany mostly in Cities & Towns that were part of previous East Germany.
That was not the case before the unification of Germany, but became a problem after unification, mainly because of the high rate of unemployment of the Eastern German people, who were all taken care off in one way or another by the communist regime,
but not anymore after unification!!!
When there is a high rate of unemployment in the indigenous population of a country,it never fails for the indigenous people of that country to turn against/blame the immigrant population in their country for their unemployment problem!!!
East Germany had an open immigration policy towards people from the third world, such as Africa & the Middle East,as part of their effort to export their communist ideology to the poor countries of the world!!!
Now those same people that welcomed those immigrants want them out,and they have reverted to the same racist ideology that
existed when Hitler was in power!!!

The more things change the more they stay the same!!!

I'm from Germany. To answer your question - no there are no signs that say "whites only". To be exact: showing of nazi- or racist-symbols in Germany is punishable by jail.

But as sad as it is, there are still some "stick-in-the-muds" who still believe in an "arian supremacy" and want to get rid of immigrants, denizens and foreigners. These are mostly young, aggressive "children" or young adults who band together and go after everything "non arian"...

Thats why there some "no go" areas everywhere in Germany. Mainly these areas are slums where you wouldn't want to go anyhow. It is not just an eastern-part-of-Germany-problem.

Not when I went there, late last year.

But some people have told me areas in the East, like Leipzig, but I do not believe it.

I am coloured myself, and was treated EXTREMELY well. Random people in the streets invited me to their house for dinner etc. I was a poor backpacker, and appreciated it very much.

It is illegal, but that doesn't mean that they don't. Maybe in secluded areas. Even in the US there are still places that have these kinds of racist banners. But it will be in areas of the south were people go for that kind of stupidity.
