My best friend suffered from bulimia for years. I believe that it is a form of self harm, and is caused by a very poor opinion of your self. My friend was very bright, beautiful and funny, but she thought she was grossly fat, ugly and worthless.

You need to think very carefully about why you abuse your self in this way and feel the need to control your life in this respect. Are you avoiding issues from your past, of present life, or perhaps fear of the future? Why do you feel the need to abuse yourself and treat your self without respect?

You need to recognise your value and the positive aspects of you personality. I would advise you to seek help from whoever you feel will treat you in the most appropriate way.

There is no easy answer here, fundamentaly it has to do with how you view yourself and your own value. No one can force you to get better, only you can do that.
