Choloroflourocarbons, otherwise known as CFC's. CFC's were primary ingredients in cooling systems of refrigerators, freezerd, and air conditioners. They also found their way as propellants in spray cans and foam insulation and cushions. Thomas Midgely, working I believe for DuPont invented them as an alternative to some corrosive, dangerous gases being used in fridges in early days. CFC's react with ozone in the stratosphere and break it down to ordinary oxygen.

Ozone is destroyed by chemicals known as chlorofluorocarbons(CFCs).These are released in the atmosphere by emissions of refrigerators, aerosol sprays, jet planes etc.CFCs are very stable and they remain in the atmosphere for a very long time. Also, they destroy ozone molecules via chain reaction. So,a single molecule of CFC is potent enough to destroy thousands of ozone molecules.
at first CFC breaks up to release chlorine radical in presence of UV rays.this radical reacts with ozone to form oxygen alongwith oxychloride. The latter undergoes reactions to release the chlorine radical and hence the chain rection proceeds

dear friend
mainly cfc(chloro fluro carbon) which is coming out from the industries will destroy the ozone layer and nowadays mainly the another gas like co2 which is coming out from the exhaustation of fuels from two wheelers and four wheelers will causes the damage in ozone layer.

The chlorine or bromine atom from CFCs.
Water vapor.
Oxides of sulfur.

Ozone is very unstable, and will try and oxidize *lots* of things.
