My wife and I are having our first child in about 2 weeks. All of her weekly check ups have been great so far. But one day after she came back from her last check up she got what looks like heat rash under her arms. I used calamine lotion that day and it did not get better. In fact, it looks like it spead a little to her belly. Since then I asked her to take cold showers and dry off well. It's very humid where we are so she has had the AC going all day. The rash look s a little better now but it is still there. I am taking my wife to the doc tomorrow first thing. I was just wondering if any Mom had similar symptoms during pregnancy. Until I get the word form the doc, my wife and I will not rest easy. Any ideas???

Don't worry too much, My sister-in-law had the same thing and the doctor told her it was called puppp, if this is what your wife has it will clear up shortly after having the baby, But you should mention Puppp to her doctor and she what she thinks.

You said it is very humid so I would guess it is a heat rash. You might also want to ask about yeast infection which usually occurs under the breasts during pregnancy (or the usual area, or the belly button, or under fat rolls if she is heavy like me). Lotrimin should do the job but check with doc anyway.

Could it be something she has eaten ? Alot of times mothers can develop food allergies while pregnant. Also nerves can have a tendency to worj up a rash or hives that sit below or above the skins surface. Try liquid baby powder or medicated goldbond powder. if it does not work consult a physician.

I had one during the end of my pregnancy, and it itched like crazy. It was called PUPPP, but it usually occurs on the belly and legs. Try Aveno lotion to soothe the skin. Good luck & Congrats on your little miracle!!!
