we love each other and he is not a chain smoker and he never smokes inside home, but i hate smoke. it makes me nervous.
how can i help him to stop smoking?

You can't get him to stop....he must do this on his own. The only way he will successfully give it up is if he is ready to. My husband and I quit 3 years ago...I haven't touched another cigarette since and he was right back to smoking. I don't like it either (he has asthma AND emphysema....which is why I quit in the first place!) but there is nothing you can do. He knows the consequences and how it affects his health. I give my husband a sprinkling of guilt every so often by saying "you love those cigarettes more than you love me!"....doesn't get him to stop, but it gets him to think!

Dear, you should have not married a smoker if you didn't want a husband who smokes. Be that as it may, apparently, you did.
You can encourage him, but in reality, you can only encourage him. He will only stop when he wants to. Most people try to stop about 7 or 8 times before they are successful, so cut him a lot of slack when he does try. : )

He respects you thats why he does not smoke at home.
You can tell him it makes you nervous but until he feels to quit he wont be able to. It is all in the mind.
There are some medications available to be taken for 60 days. But again it has to be his choice and not by force.

1_try to collect some movies,magazines,newspapers,sites,photos,advertisements that all talk about problems of smoking ,and spread them around him,car,kitchen,bathroom,bedroom,living room..even corridors>
2_DON'T and DON'T command him as( STOP SMOKING!!!)
or ( it is dirty thing to smoke)...( you will die by cancer) in any nerveous or shouting or commanding way .never ever
3_instead of that talk in calm and soft words..(certainly YOU 'll be more strong when you just stop smoking) or ( your breath will be MORE sweat BEFORE smoking any cigarette)...etc etc...
4_try to spare or provide comfortable climate without discussing problems atleast for 1 or 2 weeks.
5_as he doesn't smoke in home,,try to attract him tightly to it,,,and treat him tendernessly as a child.
6_all in all ,male is like child,so brittle,so fragile,thin,weak
stubborn.
7_let him have more fruits,vegetables,liquids..in these 2 weeks
8_let him get more sleeping hours
9_separate him gently from his smking friends.
10_more time for flirting or/and making love if he shows his disire
11_make an opposite ACTUAL action ,i.e buy special tooth paste, special spray to prevent malodour or smoking scent,
12_try to make him(BUT spontaneously again) overhearing you praying to quit smoking...

You can't make him quit. Only he can. Kissing a man who smokes is like licking an ashtray ... yuk! And how comforting it is for a wife to know that someday she'll have the duty to watch her husband die of lung cancer ...

there is a special Bubble Gum that is called NICORETTE, try to search where you can buy... this bubble gum has nicotene in it, just enough to satisfy the brain like when a man smokes, the more you chew this gum, the more you get lesser appetite to smoke... its somewhat expensive though, but its worth to try if you're seriously wanting him to quit...

ans 1--seriously threaten him that u will also start smoking. ans2--tell him u feel like kissing a nonsmoker to know how diff. it is to kiss a non stinking mouth
