It is a crime in fact. Crimes can not dissapear at all due to a number of causes, greed, swagger, etc. But the way of dealing with different crimes changes over history. People should become sensitive to racism and understand it as a crime. Especially politicians and other elites. And to understand not only its form of racist violence, but all kind of things, which lead to existence of some ethnic groups as lower socio-economic classes.

To "jesussaves": I think a question was absolutely general and your comment just illustrates deplorable situation on this topic in USA...

I do not agree with Kovács Levente, because people are different by much more things than skin colour. I agree that any other feature may serve fo racism if one group by a certain feature is exterminated. A problem is that some people find it OK to select one or another feature to make an under-class. That people do not feel members of society, where all should have rights.

I think exposure and education are key. Reverse racism is an issue, but I think it's more of a defense mechanism and a show of pride than anything else. I think we need to start raising our children to be color blind, because people who are not "of color" are now in the minority--and it will only become a bigger majority over time.

It's really quite simple, yet so far from the modern mindset:

When you see a stranger, look for the things you have in common upon which you may forge friendship, rather than your differences which may make you enemies.

Unfortunately, most people view others with fear, suspicion and hatred. It goes much further than just race.

easy answer.. we have racism partly because we think we are better than people with different skin colour. what's the evidence of thinking like that?? EVOLUTION-- we think some tribes evolove better--this is what Mr Hilter thought.
the way to solve the problem: reject evolution..

Don't think it ever will end, but you can choose to not accept it and treat everyone you come in contact with -- the way you'd like to be treated.

Nothing really. As long as there are differences between two people, there will be something like that.
