It gives out every now and then and i have to unplug and replug it back in the USB port

cheap ones indeed are not known to last so long - it's better to invest in a leading manufacturer. I use Logitech. It's much more expensive of course, but the quality and precision is far better...

I'd have guessed it was your PC causing the problems...because of an incompatibility fault or something else, rather than the mouse.

yes, i had one, andit was good for a long time, like at least a year, but then it started to not work sometimes, or it would work sometimes and then not work immediately following. It was plugged in fine, but it was just old.

I would replace it

hmmm... 2 years... I'd buy a new computer.. they usually include a new mouse.. hehe

give the old computer to your children.. or.. good will.. or a local school

Maybe there is a small break in the cord.
