You get the latest greatest(almost) technology, which you can attain at a far cheaper price a few months down the line by building in yourself.
Building PC's is not hard at all.
PS Dell bought out Alienware. It's only a matter of time before XPS gets slapped on an Alienware make or the technology is used vice versa....or as a whole new line all together.

These alienware are fairly expensive, nice but expensive. At this point at don't know if you wouldn't be better and more secure with a Mac..
Theres lots of advantage on a mac..its virtually virus free.
I dont know I overheard that there is people who sell preconfigured linux computer on the internet for way less.. I dont know if you are aware but Linux has nice interface and point and click applications for years, it is so much more secure than windows..

if your a die-hard gamer or graphic designer yes..otherwise no..they are extremely powerful and this is reflected in their pricings..the average user and even the advanced user who doesn't have heavy graphic use really doesn't need something so powerful...the case to me really doesn't matter while it is a plus for it to look good...for other alternatives this site is helpful to compare prices: http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_attrib.php/page_id=9/form_keyword=computer
