Math Mysteries offers an effective way to teach basic skills for solving word problems like those found on state tests. Students learn how to understand the problem, collect information, solve the problem, and check their answer. Best of all, students interact with engaging characters to unravel an intriguing mystery, answering word problems every step of the way!

The mystery in Measurement revolves around a top-secret underwater mission. All communication has been lost with Outpost Omega, a research station far beneath the surface. You've been enlisted to make contact with the outpost crew. The crews on the surface ship and at the outpost will brief you on the string of mysterious events that leads to a surprising discovery.

The mystery is that, at a quantum level, by measuring something you change what you're measuring. The idea in a nut shell is that by trying to find something out {like "where are my keys in this messy room"} you change what you're measuring {you move everything in the room around}.

The other mystery is "error". "Error" is the word given to the uncertainty of accuracy. If I give you a ruler that only measures in meters and ask you "How long is that car?", you can only tell me to the nearest meter. What if the car is 2.1567m long? You won't be able to tell me that unless your ruler can measure 1/10 of a millimeter.

i will give you an example, scientist say light travels at a certain speed and therefore they can measure planetary distances, i do not think this is accurate, you must take into consideration cosmic dust which is tiny matter which deflects light from true accurate measurement of distance in the cosmos. how accurate is measurement when you consider fractals.
