About the same time we eliminate lobbing firms, abolish political parties or at least remove party affiliation from ballots, AND revise the electoral collegefrom a winner takes all to a precentage allocation.

You don't do much to reduce drug users by locking up the users. You reduce the number of users by drying up the source.

The answer is what it has always been, a proactive citizenry.

People don’t have to wait for some grand movement, rather, simply get involved in your local community. Start with knowing who is elected to local office and who is appointed to commissions, boards and committees. Know what their budgets are and what the demands are on the decisions they make.

In most place you can even get voter registration lists and most of these will note what elections in which these people have voted (not how they vote, just whether they voted or not). This list tells you who are really the most politically active in your community.

Its all public record and at most you only have to pay copy fees to get it.

If you do this locally, you’ll have a good opportunity of influencing directions taken at the local level. If you can do this, through your community you can influence actions at the State legislative level. From that State level you have a far better chance of influencing the National political level.

This is not hard to do and no one can stop you. The biggest challenge is that you will have to learn how to interact politically. Simply yelling and demonstrating will not do what you want, but combining with what I have suggested gives you a real chance to actually change what is happening, anything else is simply hot air.
