recently when i have been messaging people they ask me if i am still there as if they have not recieved the message

if u shut down the system without logging out from the yahoo messenger, the yahoo messenger server will show as online. then ur frendz will feel that you are online and they try to ping. Sometimes, it may be because of the slow internet connections.
Dont' use any proxy servers.

Well, this could be two things:
* Try uninstalling and installint again yahoo messenger, problem could be missing files, bad files.... etc...
* If you don't think yahoo messenger is fine, files are fine,,, etc.... then try checking your status... it's good to check your status as often as possible... You know, there is a status that says: "Invisible to everyone", if your status is this one then all your contacts will think you are offline and will ask you: "Are you there?"
It's a good practice to be reviewing your status.

may be the connection was disconnected and reconnected. and between that u send the message. I'd also faced this so many times.

Hay, as everyone tells me, it is free. There are problems with Yahoo webs but we just have to take them as they are an not as what we want.

It happens just verify your conexion & see if you're still online if not your messages want go anywhere

i think its d problem of ur pc not yahoo cos i ve a prob where others can see my msgs but i cant then i reinstalled my xp n then its solved.may b ur pc got virus or spyware problem.

some time it happens when net is slow or any problem in server no big issue. or some time whne u reply late it ahappens so

you possibly are experiencing a bad connection. It happens often when I am using my laptop with a wireless card.
