Florine is the most reactive element in the 7A group & its electronic configuration is (2,7).But , even the elements like Clorine (2,8,7) ; Bromine (2,8,18,7) ; & Iodine (2,8,18,18,7) are not reactive though they are in 7A group. Plsss help me out of this.

Fluorine is the most electronegative element. That means it has very high capacity to attract shared pair of electrons towards itself. Due to its high elctron attracting nature it attracts most of the groups, atom having spare electrons.
it is more reactive than other elements in its gp because-

-small size
-less screening effect
-high effective nuclear charge

It is the most reactive element because it has the highest electronegativity, which means that it wants its electrons and others electrons more than any other element. Thus in a reaction it will always take electrons from the other element. Its electronegativity is 3.98.

Discovered : 1886 by Henri Moissan

Isolated in Paris, France

Origin : The name is derived from the Latin ‘fleure’, to flow.

Description :

Fluorine salts, known as fluorides, were used for centuries in welding metals and for frosting glass before the element itself was isolated. Fluorine gas is the most reactive of all the elements and quickly attacks all metals - steel wool bursts into flames when exposed to it! Fluorine is used to make uranium hexafluoride, needed by the nuclear power industry, and sulfur hexafluoride insulating gas for high-power electricity transformers, and to treat polythene to make it impermeable to solvents. Fluoride is added to drinking water in some areas and to toothpaste to help prevent tooth decay. The average human body contains about 3 milligrams; too much fluoride is toxic.

Since fluorine is the most electronegative element therefore
to complete its octet need only one electron thatswhy this most reactive element found
