I'm with you Liam. God's a character from a piece of fiction.

I certainly don't buy all that Christian rubbish, if there is some higher being then we certainly wouldn't be able to comprehend who or what they are, we don't even know what's beyond our own solar system (not really in depth). I feel the Christian view of God has been watered down and simplified beyond belief so that the ordinary man on the street can feel included, there's no sophistication in religion any more and no reason for me to worship what other men have invented; if I was God I'd be pretty pissed off at being protrayed in such a manner! Besides, what makes the Christian God any better than the Greek Gods or the Roman Gods?

I agree with you. Anyone who believes that a coincidence of events is a message from god is mistaken. I'm not one to convert people, I say "each to their own", but I believe in things with a scientific explanation. Religion is based around events that may have happened in the past. Thing is the people back then were not as developed as we are now. They saw a comet and thought it was a god or a message. We are dispelling these myths by the day. If the people of the ancient times saw a car or a plane they would say it was magical. we know that they are machines developed by science, not magic or any act of god. All religions are too similar anyway.

I don't believe! Religion is the biggest cause of war and anger in the world. Everyone has the right to believe in what they like but it shouldn't come down to who is right and who is wrong. People use God to blame when things go wrong or praise when things go right. The only person in control of your life is yourself and the world is what you make of it nobody else.

I'm a Christian so obviously I believe in God. If you don't believe I commend you for having an opinion and sharing it with us here hopefully leading to some sensible debate. I don't feel offended either, it is your opinion and you haven't put down those who do believe.

God is the answer for everything that is inexplicable in this world. My God is the nature, which has created conditions for life to prevail and multiply. No other 'God' could have been a better one than the nature itself... with all its sheer magic, mystique and excellence...!!

Coming to the beliefs of 'God' personified with names.. like Jesus, Allah etc. well, there's no harm in believing them as long as we dont fight on their names.
