America is destroying itself through consumerism and the World is happy to supply the goods. Money out of the USA is money into every other nation's pockets. The greedy, bloated American people want it that way it seems.

The World is laughing at America's crass attempts to show it is all powerful even as China and India, Europe and Russia take over all the World's markets and share them out amongst themselves.

The World is angered by America's brutal war for oil and its subjugation of innocent people who don't follow the American way. Once the World would have felt obliged to obey Uncle Sam, but, having seen America lose all the wars its waged since 1945, the World now sees America as merely a loud-mouthed bully. Sooner or later bullies get sidelined. The World is sidelining America right now and America will never recover until it learns to be a team player once again.

China will be the new economic superpower within 20 years. India will be at China's side and Europe (including Russia) will be out-trading America on every front - more competitive, better quality, more diverse.

America has one other big problem - it is the World's only Christian fundamentalist State. Any State driven by religious extremism is bound to be a fail by global measures. America has to snap out of this and get back to reality if it is to survive in the modern World.

America, you're in trouble and the sooner you understand that its of your own making the sooner you can get back on the road to recovery.

Of course! Its happening already and accelerating with every passing day.

Within 20 years China may be the World's leading economic power and Europe will certainly be number 2. Thus America will be in the third (possibly fourth) slot. There can be little doubt about this unless America seriously changes its habits.

America's insatiable greed for new shiny things makes it ever more indebted to other nations only too willing to supply. China, Japan and Europe lead the pack and China and Europe have hugely improving economic clout, thanks to the dollars they're leaching out of America.

America's unbalanced dependence on oil is going to bring it to crisis, particularly once the Iraq fiasco is over and it has finally lost the oil fields of the Middle East to Iran's influence, with China the biggest energy buyer and Russia the biggest supplier.

Russia will trade with Europe first and its staggering economic potential hasn't been touched yet - Europe knows this and is laying the ground. Russia knows it too and is working with Europe to build the mightiest bloc of them all. America is on the outside looking in.

China is buying Africa and will re-shape it to its needs. America doesn't even know where Africa is!

India is allying itself with the new power blocs of an extended Europe and a burgeoning China (not much with America). Just today an Indian steel firm (Mittal) bought Europe's 'Arselor' to become the biggest steel firm in the World - three times larger than its nearest rival ... think about that.

Why is this happening? The World has seen what a swaggering bullying America does when it is the only superpower and they do not like it.

America's greed, arrogance and bullying are the causes of its own demise - all empires fall for the same reasons. America's just happens to have been one of the shortest lived.

Unfortunately, China is likely to become the world's top country ; bad news if it keeps the kind of regime it has today.

Yet I have to say that 40 years is a bit too much . So many things can happen in 40 years. China is currently so oil-thirsty that it could well destabilize world peace and be a key factor to a global conflict. If peace remains, China might also waste its opportunity to invest in technologies that would allow it to develop without oil or gas (hydrogen farming, fuel-cell vehicles, fusion power, etc), and that should prove fatal if its goal is indeed to become the world's first.

As for the USA, I could say the same : as painful as it might be for oil investors (hence for party funding...), if the country does not decide to become a world leader in hydrogen tech very soon (and that's already yesterday!), I do not suppose it could sustain the kind of pace Asia is imposing right now...

China is undoubtedly an emerging superpower. Militarily, they still have a long way to catch up with the E.U. & the U.S. Economically, China's undeniably the fastest growing economy in the world. In fact, it's predicted to surpass Japan in the next decade or so. Hopefully, China will gradually change its political system in time to meet the wills of the Chinese people who always thirst for more personal freedom & human rights.
I do see China becoming a world power but not in our life time, & certainly not in the next 40 years or so, because they still have a lot of catching up to do technologically & a lot of political reforms to make in order to replace the U.S.

***Any anti-American rhetoric of bringing retribution to the Americans by another upcoming superpower is nothing other than a mere bitter wishful thinking.

China and India are set to become the next global powers in terms of business, economics, and politics. The US will lose as both countries expand their economic base and political standings around the world. We are already seeing this with China as it invests heavily in Africa and Latin America.

However, there are issues that come up with this. China and India will soon require as much energy through oil as the US does. Pollution is a major problem in both, especially in China as coal useage grows without an end in sight. Also, both have tensions with their neighbors that have yet to be solved.

No matter what, though, China and India will become the dominate players in this century along with the US.

Ofcourse. No one can be on the top without proper values for long.

Its just a matter of time.

Its only for the last 10 or 20 years that US came to the top and with such irresponsible behaviour its gona go down for sure.

And the time frame 40 years would be too much time for it to be replaced.

China or India which ever shows more resolve to come on top can do it.

Japan,Germany,Britain has almost reached its satuartion levels

I would say China can come on top if it shows more resolve in 10 years and if India shows more resolve it can come up in about 15 years on top(even if Chinese has already come on top in 10 years)

US is already showing the signs of desperation for remaining on top.

But its of no use as it cannot stop 2 giants at a time.

Note:Before US came on top it was sharing top position with USSR.

Before that the Germans were on top for a brief period(But didnt have values to remain on top for long)

Before that the Britishers were on top for about 2 or 3 centuries cos they had some good values.

Even before that it was again the Indians who were on top for quite some very long duartion of time(cos of the excpetionl moral values they held)

Of course. Arrogance and greed always lead to the fall of an empire and the US has plenty of both. The US is fighting a "War on Terrorism" when America is the biggest terrorist in the world. We are hated by virtually everyone, even those who seem to be on our side. It's only a matter of time before everyone comes together and blows this place up.

Replace? No. I think the global political scenario would see the US and CHINA influencing its own spheres with the former being seen as more aggressive to impose its foreign policies. Economically China is expected to be number 1; and with economic superpower status, China would inevitably have greater influence in South America, Middle East and Asia - this could lead to contentious encounters with the number 2 - the US.

Probably so. All great empires fall. At one time Rome was the super power of the world. Not saying that America should fall out of # 1 but I believe it is bound to happen.

We are bully's and someone always knocks a bully's block off.

If it were a conventional war China would make mince meat out of us! A nuclear war? I guess then none of us have to worry about a damn thing.

We pay 1/2 of the federal budget on the military and paying the INTEREST on the national debt.

We put more money in our military than all nations combined!
