Because the definition of a misogynist (which can actually be a
clinical term) is a man, a male who HATES the female, or all females. A feminist is merely a woman who, right or wrong,
has taken a political and personal stance on men that reflect
her values, so, while she may not necessarily like men (most
don't), it's not outright hatred in quite the same sense.

Because a misogynist hates women. And a feminist stands by it's beliefs that women are equal to men. It should never be okay to hate someone just because of who they are. Same as it's not okay for a certain race to hate another because of the way they look or the color of there skin. This is the way we are born and there never should be a reason to change that.

A misogynist is a person that hates women, while a feminist is a person that advocates women's rights and interests. Hatred is a very strong negative emotion, but it's not negative to have the passion to bring about equality for your own gender.

Because being a feminist (or being a pro-feminist, if you aren't female) is about protecting the rights of women.
Being a misogynist is about denying and abusing the rights of women.
Feminist = constructive.
Misogynist = destructive.

Because men have allowed themselves to be manipulated into feeling guilty for having the attitudes that are so important to survival. True, we have evolved culturally and moved out of the caves, and there are not many bears and lions we need to protect the clan from, but those attitudes have persisted.
