I think the overall answer here is No. Severum cichlids (cichlids, is the first clue = somewhat aggressive) come from a completely different water condition than goldfish. Severum live in a sandy stream area with lots of rotting plant material, ultimately making the water very soft with a low pH and high temperatures. Goldfish prefer a little more neutral or alkaline water with lots of oxygen current for body function and cooler temperatures. Severums, like goldfish, can get quite large and may (as others have said) give hell to a passive slow goldfish.

If you want something to go with your goldfish that isn't a goldfish, try a Weather Dojo loach (an eel like fish that likes cooler water and the same water conditions as goldfish.)

Severum Fish

Apparently the Severus has its natural Cichilid behaviour in its genes, though its a calm fish.

On top of it, the Gold Fish is a passive fish which will be the target of even a slightly aggressive fish!! Not to mention its flowing long tail attracts any fish worth its teeth!!

So I think its a risk but you can still try and watch over them for few hours-days. If you notice any fin damage in the Gold, then u can seperate them. The only cichilid that seems to be at peace with the Gold is the "Angel Fish" !!!
