♡Yes, I have. I had a chance to dress in full kimono when I went to Kyoto once, make up, hair and all. (I've worn kimono without the make up and hair too.) I'll tell you a secret though, although I have long hair, the place I went to used special wigs already set in the traditional style. The woman told me it would take a long time to actually get my hair that way! When my sis got married here in Japan, she had a huge wedding with traditional white wedding dress, full dress kimono and make up and then 'party dress' as well. We both agree that it was extremely constricting and hot! In my opinion kimono does not fit well on the western body, especially in the bust. I could hardly breathe. My sis claims she almost passed out(*^o^*) You can have this done too if you go to Kyoto, check this site:

It takes about 2 hours, long huh? But well worth the experience! Although I know a rare few women who can actually dress in full kimono themselves, it's not common. Usually people have to be assisted. If you attend a wedding, it can be done at the wedding centers and some beauty salons offer the service and hair styling too. Hope this helps! (Are you coming to Japan? You'll love it!)♡

It feels heavy depends on what kind of wig you are going to wear and how big or small is your head.. it has sizes..
Don't drink lots of water or eat much when you are going to wear full kimono or you might end up tired jus to get rid of this kimono going to restroom.. Mostly you would not walk alone by yourself, so you will be OK, the only thing that matters is that when you walk be sure that you walk slowly and make sure your feet are close to each other because when you walk..you would hold the other part of the kimono and that would see your feet and it is noticeable when you walk , and your feet are far to each other because you are trying to balance. there is assistant and they are the ones who would help us give comfort like giving us water because it is really heavy and discomfort as well as if you are the kind of person who perspire a lot,it would be hard..I am not a kind of person who perspire a lot, mostly places have air cons and it turned fine with me..
most are trained on this and they could tell you how, even though what geisha could do is not what we can.. we are not trained..so mostly we are allowed to make this kind of curiosity and mistakes untit we get used to..

I saw a guy in Kyoto once in the full Meiko (apprenctice Geisha) get-up.
The hair, make-up, kimono, geta etc. And BigAss sideburns to go with it.
Freaked me out !
