they can be, but here what will happen,

love will be better because it will be more romantic, but sex will be worse because it will loose the heat of love.

I am sure sex and love can be detached, take the case of a woman who works as a prostitute but has a husband and family, and there are I hear many of them.

Now as to open marriages, I guess it is a choice of lifestyle, if one chooses this lifestyle, then I am sure they learn to compartmentalize their feelings so that they love the spouse but enjoy the other person only.

I am sure the best person to ask this question of would be someone in an open relationship.

I believe so. If you go into it just knowing you want sex with no kinds of emotional strings attatched, then yes. Also as long as everyone has consented things should be ok. Not everyone is capable of it though. It is something that really needs to be well planned out, also I don't think it would be wise to have the same person part of the sex life. People do get attatched over time.

I don't think so. When you take you mairage vows you vow to forsake all other for your spouse, your marrying your spouse for who they not what they do in the bed, though that does factor, Does that mean you won't look at others? No of course it doesn't but it does mean that everything else about your spouse will keep you coming to the same bed every nigth.

'What the mind can concieve, the mind can acheive'
Anything is possible, but it's a fine line, and a hard road to travel. You can have your mind set, and telll yourself you can do this, but love, like time, has it's own plans. Just be careful and gaurd ur heart.

Yes, Love and Sex can be detached. Its way better when they are together, but you don't need one for the other.

I would think so. Love is a mysterious feeling. Men can detach their feelings from sex. So I would think yes.
