Dont tell him until your no longer embaressed, I think that would be perfect timing for the both of you. Sometimes saying it too soon scares them off or better yet wait a bit an see if he tells you first for a bit.

If he already said it and your shy to reply back just try saying it back when you hug him first before the stare in his eyes thing...good luck.

If it's the kind of love that you have for a friend... you could say, "I care about you."
If it's the "in love" kind of love, you could say, "You're a good, handsome man & I care about you."
Or, you could say, "My feelings for you are more than friendship."
