I have a BCM V.92 56 modem and im gonna try to take it out of my Dell and put it in a compaq win. 95 computer and i was wondering if i have to get the modem driver for the modem its self or for the win. 95 or can u even get a modem driver for that modem that will support win 95

First thing I would do is check your drive space and ram. If both are sufficient then upgrade to win98 as you will not get any support at all for win95, getting support for win98 will be hard enough. Hopefully you have a couple of G open space and 64M ram. If you cannot locate a win98 driver you can try winme drivers as they may work. Don't bother with drivers from winxp, win2k or winnt - they definitly will not work.

you probably won't - you can try a win 98 driver - but realize that nobody uses 95 and companies don't have to make drivers for it any more. 98 users will also start battling to find drivers.

The modem may not be backwards-compatible with earlier versions of XP.
You can check if it is compatible on the manufacturer's website. If a Win95 driver is available, it is likely that its also available on the manufacturer's website.

sooory cant help you but you're working on a pc with an os of win 95 it must be a pentium 1 cpu. give it up donate it to goodwill or charity maybe they will shipped it to third world countries for their computer education

What you can do is search driverguide.com for a driver for your specific hardware,just type in the model of the modem.if there is a driver....they should have it
