Well I was good writer of poet and novels to, but now I write less because I don't have an right inspiration. Just sometimes (for exemple when I'm sad or sth) I take a pencile and words come out of my head and there goes my all soul and heart on peace of paper... But I can't write a poem when I whant to write, I write it when I have an insiration, wish to show the world how I fell about somthing, because I think that only with my heart I can see rightly.. So good luck and don't worry , you'll have an inspiration when you less expecting.

You need to be inspired by something, but nothing makes a good poet. Poetry is what you make it and what you think it is. So, if you think you're already good, there's no need for improvement...don't fix it if it ain't broke.

u should just observe more and not read too much of other works as it kills originality and have a good vocab and expressive skills, just write more and more and write without inhibitions from ur heart.

practice makes perfect

poetry is usually about feeling..
edgar allen poe wrote stories in form of peoms .. and all his stuff are dark, moody, depressiing.. but im sure he took the time to re-write his works for years...

the best thing to do is write down your topic.. and just write about it. after that revise it and try to make it rhym..

it takes time.. after all rome wasnt built in a day.
goodluck
