It depends on how motivated you are. The more motivated the quicker you get to be manager. Remember that you are replaceable so dont make it your life.

Honestly, it depends on the concept, the skills you have and the ability to get a chance.
What I mean by "the concept" is the type of restaurant and the management proticol ... McDonalds is the roughest to move a head. The skills you have matter ... can you demonstrate the ability to do the right thing .... since you're being paid a salary, are you able to do the work of several people ... and a chance ... someone has to beleve you are management material.
