Hello people, everytime I connect to the internet it is connected but after a few minute smy PC Hang over and over so I press restart again then when I check to the modem option in the control panel it says: "Not present" over and over then I restart again to make a connection but same problem encountered when I am connected it hang again. Whats thew problem? the modem or the wire? I dont know. Pls help me. thnx in advance.
Im into Dial-up connection only. 56k.

did you try adding a modem in the modem area any 56k will do unless windows has that drivers in it's data base press F1 at your computer and read up on this topic I was on dial up for 15 years now I am on dsl but I remember some tricks still

your problem is the modem, not sure if it's a driver or a hardware problem.what to do:if u can move the modem in another slot.
reinstall the drivers.
look at the modem in device manager and set it's resources manually , in order to make it stop conflicting.
