I need to reformat a hard drive and i need to download the info to a flopy to reformat with where can I do this download. A friend help do another one but when we finished he took the flopy with him

if you want to reformat all your dirves including the drive where you have inistalled OS also its better to creat a startupdisk and copy the format.com file from your system itself its located in windows\system or windos\system32.
Or if you want to format only other drive (not OS)

if you are using XP or 2000 :
Administrative Tools in control panel there you can find conputer management,
in that application, you can find the storage as a child of tree
disk management, with that you can format other one,
OR
just right-click in which drive you want to frofam there you can find the format tab.

if you are using 98
just right-click ont the drive which you want to format and just format that,


Create a startup disk:
insert a disk in to your system and right-click on the flopy disk and go for format in that opend window you can find copy system files check box just clikc that and format , after that as i told you before just copy the format.com file in that disk,

Looks with the Win98 bootable floppy which your friend was using. Get the bootable disk from the link provided below, reboot from the floppy and run Format. Hope you got the setup files to install the OS on a CD or a second partition or drive to install from.

To Format your HDD you need Win 98 Bootable Floppy;
To creat that folle bellow steps :
1. Find one Win98 Computer, get one Blank floopy
2. Go to Add Remove Progamme > Windows Setup
3. There you can find one option 'Bootable disk'
4. Insert floopy In FDD and click OK

Now you will have bootable disk; insert it in your computer, goto BIOS by pressing DEL or F2. Chang First Boot divice to FDD
Restart your computer; your computer will go to Command prompt ; Type following command
a:\ format c:

this will format your c:;
like this you can format all drives

download this floppy image: http://www.binarica.com/data/software/w98_boot.zip
and then use this tool to write to floppy: http://www.binarica.com/data/software/rawwrite.zip
usage: extract all files to the same folder,then run: rawrite image_name a:
where image_name is the name of the extracted image , and a: is the floppy drive u are using.

Please which window are you using. If you are using win98 then its easy to make a start-up disk or from any other windows. 1st systematise your floppy drive or let windows do it for you.
