I actually faced this question once, back in the days before I had children. The first thing I grabbed was the icon of my patron saint. My husband commissioned it to be painted by one of the iconographer monks of Mt. Athos, also known as "the Holy Mountain" in Greece. My patron saint is not well known outside of Greece, so icons of her are very hard to come by, to say nothing of this being an original created by a living saint from the Holy Mountain!

I understand from the question that there are no persons to be rescued, only " things". I will try for the fire extinguisher.

Assuming all people and pets were out then i would rescue my memory box. The things in that box mean a lot to me.

Assuming all people are out of the house, I'd grab the family photos, because they are irreplaceable. One Love People.

Assuming my parent were already out, I'd try to chuck all my sentimental things out the window...a computer would be hard on a two-story........imagine myself running around flames hefting along my pc and monitor....hahahaha...

nothing and no one, why? because without someone or something you have in the house... you'll be sad... better die together and no one's sad than some die and some not that can cause sadness for the ones who live.
