With the seperation of church and state this seems like a mistake on the republican party. All these moral debates seem pretty insignoficant to the big picture. While not tryhing to judge.... I cant help to see a pattern. The veiws of our leaders seem out of whack with the seperation of church and state. To much irony and coiincendences give serious doubt a bout the motives of President Bush claiming to be a man of god?? Why is the United States trying to bring demorcacy to the rest of the world when the US. is a republic?? Politics is so confusing... I think they make it that way on pourpose to keep us regular folks in the dark.

Most politicians in Christian countries try to do this because they think it makes them look good. A bit like kissing babies.

You can have moral debate without mentioning religion at all.

Using Christian religion in politics is a huge mistake.

First off it alienates all the other religions in that country, Jews, Muslims, Sikhs etc.

Secondly it alienates not just other countries but whole religions. Much of Americas problems with Muslims is that it is seen as Christianity hunting down Muslims and other religions. A lot of the time when Bush talks about bringing democracy to other countries he sounds like he is saying Christianity to many people.

Where politicians are supposed to represent the people they are so biased to Christianity that it insults the vast majority. Quite apart from the other religions many people are non believers.

Religion should be kept well out of politics and if that could be achieved governments and presidents would be seen as more open and even handed and peace would be given a real chance.

The true nature of the current administration is that they govern by slight of hand. Rather than focusing on issues that matter, they choose to distract the distractible with quick hand movements and shiny objects. Unfortunately they have learned from past experience that a large portion of this country can be easily persuaded to do virtually anything by simply wrapping it in a flag and singing Dixie. Those that notice that the solutions presented, although red white and blue, are merely cheap illusions from a tattered garage sale magic kit, are labeled as "anti-American" and told to "leave if you don't like it." This country has been turned into an "us" against "them" battle and there is no clear definition of who the players are. It's a shame that so many are only capable of blindly following the shiny thing like sheep follow the heard. Once the shine is gone all that's left is a tarnished worthless trinket, a steep price for what once was a dignified country.

SEEMS TO HAVE??It started with Pat Robertson running for President during the Reagan years. They didnt neccesarrily highjack it.They just pushed and lobbied to get their agenda across, and are dupping christian people to pass said agendas by using buzz word tactics and insulting the average thinking person. For example, using gay marriage as a tool to get people to the polls to pass their agenda. Those people may have voted differently, but are afraid to be labeled immoral or deviant by their prospective church group. Its the very reason I turned atheist.I can think for myself without the governments intervention or interference.

Although it seems like Bush has hijacked the religious right, how do you know it's not the other way around, hmm?
