Went to the Louvre in Paris saw the egyptian exhibit just curious about the defaced noses on a lot of the work have heard various stories wanted to know if someone knew the real deal!

Some of the Egyptian art that you see in those museums are as old as 4000-5000 years old, so i would say they are in pretty good shape considering that! the majority of the artifacts were actually stolen and then sold in Europe so they have survived robbers, smuggling and handling by inexperienced people. but some were given as a present from the Egyptian government or just "loaned" for display in other countries.
the Muslims in Egypt have not caused any damage to those artifacts, they are highly valued and Egyptians are very proud of their Pharaonic ancestors. the rumor around the sphinx s nose is that Napoleon actually had it shot/bombed! no one knows for sure!
actually the US troops have caused great damage in Iraq s vestiges and museum artifacts:

so invisible man, please do not generalize about Muslims,the only event i know of is what happened in Afghanistan where they destroyed two giant Buddha statues and this was done by some extremists.
