Wow, there sure are a lot of "experts" on here giving answers about the US when they aren't even from here. Hahaha....
My answer would be this: The U.S. consists of every nation in the world. Therefore, you could say that there are people from every nation on the planet living in the U.S that are fat and disgusting.
Asking a question like you did is pretty ignorant. Yes, obesity is a problem in the U.S., but it is also a problem in a ton of other countries as well.
Your question would be no worse than one asking, "Why do so many people from England have seriously NASTY teeth?" or "Why do so many Indians smell weird?"

American meal portions are out of control compounded by the fact that most Americans live sedentary lifestyles. Big calories + Little excercise = Fat America.

Instant of staying home and cooking a health meal,They are out for burgers and fries,pizzas and beer...They load-up on potateo chips,dipps,sodas' and frozen prepare foods...Any kind of junk food they can get their hands on...It's really sad to see what amercian people are doing to themself...and the children too...

Because we have so much good food here. And you can get it any time of day or night for very little money and it only takes a couple of minutes.
