Often because they can't do anything but manual labor. And people who hire manual labor know that anyone willing to do it has no other option for work. So they get the shaft.
Also because americans like things cheap cheap cheap. Can't have killer wages and cheap prices, unless you'd like to outsource all of our manufacturing. We already have enough companies raping the working classes of other countries.
Would be cool if we all were paid the same...I haven't the attention span to do the math, but I'm betting around 80% of us would get a substantial raise if we divvied our country's profit evenly to each citizen.
No, I'm not a communist. Would just be interesting to see what would happen if every job paid the same.

Alas, such things do happen. Pareto rule says that its 80:20; that is; 20 percent of people do 80 percent of work. And 80 percent do only 20 percent work.
It applies everywhere; be it countries, organisations, even our homes. Too amazing. Isn't it?

If you have to hard to earn money, that means you do not have the education to get a brainy job. Normally higher educated ppl earn more money for their companies. Thus, they get paid more.
