I just saw a question claiming NEOCONS shoot kittens to celebrate the fourth. This kind of attitude is getting more common among the liberals. Not that you don't find it from the conservatives, it's just more common in the liberals.

I don't know how relative it is, but it is pretty ugly. I once asked the following question. It was, and still remains, the ugliest question I have seen on this site:
Have you ever licked a hemhorroid? If so, did it taste like a penny?
As for hatefulness - It is only effective if you allow it to be. Nothing perpetuates hate more than a receptive audience. By acknowledging the hatred with a response, you are thereby receiving the information, and acting upon it. I understand your frustration, however, and tend to agree with your stance. It is an unfortunate condition that we operate in, but my personal belief is that it is a tolerable side-effect. The condition is free speech and the ability to access a global network of information, the side-effect is the abundance of cowards who hide behind the anonymity of the internet to be more bold than smart. In effect, in order to obtain the information you require, you must be aware that a GIVEN percentage of the people you run into will be idiots. With this in mind, skip over those. Chalk them up to statistical normalities, and move on with any pertinent information that may have slipped through the cracks.

Well, here goes: I answered a question that was asked about a rap song. I stated: "Rap is not music" The questioner called me a "hoe" and my reply was that a hoe was a garden tool, and that if he meant that other definition, I was a born-again virgin, and celibate. Perhaps I should have explained why I think rap is not music. Music has to have a Melody, it should have some kind of harmony, and a tempo. Rap doesn't have a melody or harmony, therefor it is not music. I guess I would called rap an acronym for "R-eally A-wful P-oetry" or "R-eally A-wesome P-oetry" if you like it. It's just not music.

Of course, as an atheist (and a Satanist, but that's a different story), I am biased.
I have been told countless times that I was doomed to Hell (which by the way I don't believe in, neither do I believe in heaven), and numerous quantities of people have tried to convert me. I have hated it, I still do, and I will continue to hate it.
On the other hand, I am known for giving out not necessarily kind answers, sometimes out of frustration because of these very people, and other times because my judgment has possibly not developped enough to ponder what I am about to write.
I forgive myself more easily, however, but I do acknowledge that sometimes I am not very much better than they are.
The rest of the time, however...

Honestly, I don't really know who is worse. I believe in Christ but I don't feel like I have to beat you over the head with it. If you are around me and you enjoy my company I feel in some way you are enjoying the company of Christ. No this doesn't mean you will get a sermon or a lot of subtle pushes toward my faith. We don't even have to talk about faith.
Sometimes Christians forget that we are not perfect only that we are striving to be more like God's image. So forgive some of us, we don't realize we may actually be pushing you away.
But on the other hand some people just like hate! Unfortunately for those that don't believe in Christ or any God-like figures they use your name and you have to suffer for their transgressions. So you really need to get on people that pretend to be Atheist just so that they can be mean to others.

I admit to being caustic, but not hateful! My answers are usually thoughtful, unless it's one of the idiotic mass who ask stupid questions.
I don't think ALL Christians are brainwashed idiots, most are o.k...just brainwashed. Doubt I will burn in hell.
Actually one can hardly choose which is worse as both sides are equally stupid to anyone whose IQ is larger than their waist size. Whilst they scream it out, many of the rest of will debate in our best sarcastic, witty and scholarly way. LOL

Christians have confidence in a God they haven't any actual info of, so possibly they are slightly brainwashed, and athiests,,,,,, i think of in case you dont have confidence in something you fairly must be unhappy and experience lonely. the international has consistently been mean lively. Its consistently a you against me concepts-set. So few think of that genuinely everyone could be equivalent, or actual or get alongside. It makes me unhappy, yet im not sure every physique will ever substitute the region.

Crickett; do not be disturbed. Remember the first axiom from the Master; "In this old world there are only two types of people; assholes and not-assholes".
Once you realize this all else falls in place. Remember that people with small minds pose stupid questions or ridiculous answers. Be not toubled and don't let the bastards wear you down.

Both sides are equally bad, very distasteful and lack numerous "good" qualities. "Ugly" (not reffering to looks) people both ask and answer. That also goes far beyond this site or any others, THAT is in every facet of their life/lives.

I get offended at the people who intentinally scare the site by posting questions and answers about hurting or being sexually inappropriate with children, thats really the worst of it in my opinion.
