I know whenever someone smiles at me I automatically get a big grin on my face... is it just me or does this happen to other ppl too?

Researchers have found that a genuine smile is, yes, contagious. It's a psychological item.
Which means that if you smile in humor or amusement, then look at someone, it may incline them to do the same. If you smile deliberately without motivation, just to try to make someone smile, it probably won't work very often, or at least, it won't make them smile genuinely at a fake smile, but they might give a fake smile right back.

Absolutely. Smile at a person and he/she will automatically smile back.. it happens to everyone.
Smiling is contagious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at
me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner,
and someone saw my grin -
When he smiled I
realized, I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth,

Honey smiling is not contagious but when you smile at others when they smile at you then they would certainly think that you are the most loving girl in this whole world. So don't ask whether smile is a contagious thing or not just make your smile contagious

Well, this happens to other ppl but not to everyone. But laughing!!! It makes everybody laugh without even knowing the reason. Research has shown that if you laugh (or even play a laughing sound by a tape) people around you start laughing. or at least they smile!!!

yes it is. its the first that you are saying to someone without words. you are welcoming them. and you smile because they are being nice and polite. a smile puts you at ease too. you know what they say you use more face muscles to frown than to smile

i do not know... but it is better to have a smile on your face and maybe it will give others smile on their face...sometimes with the things that we have to deal with on this earth we do not smile much....so keep smiling and maybe it will brightens someones day...
