I would ask them to pay your car payment and that months insurance, then they can borrow it. They will probably think that's a bad deal, and it is, almost as bad as letting someone take the second largest investment most people make. Might as well let them borrow your house and kick you out for awhile. Sharing is good, but most people depend on their vehicle to conduct their lives, like going to work, picking up/bringing kids to school, etc..

Loaning your vehicle out is something that sould require serious consideration on your part. First, you need to have the person sign something indicating that if they damage it in an accident or through misuse, or aquire any tickets, that they are abligated to pay them. Then, you need to inform them of any and everything that may be wrong with your car. Then, there needs to be a clearly defined date and time when they are to return it to you. Even then, were it me, I STILL wouldn't oan my car out. There are jsut too many variables. Are you sure that the person is even licensed to drive? What happens if they do something illegal in your car? It's possible that tlaw enforcement might confiscate it? It isn't advisable, and as you see, it's also inconvenient.

You can try mass transit for a day, if it's available where you are. If there's no form of mass transit, and you can't walk or ride a bike wherever you need to go, you might try calling a friend - or, as a last resort, a cab. They need to make money, too.

If you only have one vehicle and you are wondering what to do if someone else has it...Don't loan it out...Besides something might come up and all of a sudden you need it. Or if they wreck it you have no car...Then you really will be wondering what to do.
