Im from South Africa and I just wanted other people's opinions.

I'm from South Africa, but live in Korea. The Koreans are very happy about the World Cup being hosted by SA, because they are not very well informed about our country. Many of them have asked me to help them go there in 2010 and some have even said that they would pay my way.
So in this part of the world people are really looking forward to visiting our great country.

i think its a good thing because if im not mistaken the 2010 World Cup will be the first World Cup to be held in Africa and it will most likely help the South African economy.

Happy to know that SA is hosting the World Cup come 2010. Would be there myself, to cheer up my favourite teams - Ghana, Nigeria & South Africa. :)

It is kind of funny, since i don't think they have qualified for the 98 02 or 06 fifa world cup. and they will automaticly be qualified because they are the host team. however i think the fans who wil travel to that country to see their teams play will be very pleased, because South Africa is a very, very beautiful country.

It'll be great-great opportunity to go home...i think it will be interesting too, since most people think South Africa is white, they will be surprised to see the majority Africans, Indians, Mutiracial etc groups that also live there too.

i think its awesome that they are having it there...allmy cousins are going to it..however its kinda sad b/c south africa hasnt been in the world cup in sooo long im not sure if they have been but now they stand a chance n im sooooo going for them to win....love to sa

Well, individually I think it is great! Soccer is the global sport and being the "World" Cup, it needs to be held in different geographical locations every tournament.
