It **IS** illegal to spread Christianity there. I would not give bibles around in China, even though it's unlikely you will get caught cos no one will really care. But know that it IS illegal.

There are Christian churches there although few, and they are controlled by the govt. Others that are not officially recognized but are allowed in China will have separate meetings for foreigners and Chinese citizens.

The best thing a Christian can do in China is live righteous Christian principles and use your example to bring people closer to Christ. But don't do missionary work there. We just need to gain the government's trust. As Christians, it is our duty to be honest in all of our dealings, and that includes dealings with governments and living their laws. The more work that is secretly done, the more distrust the government will have about the motives and actions of the group.

There has been a long history of religion meddling in government affairs, assisting other countries to conquer and pillage China eg Opium wars, Unequal treaties. China has been bitten once and so is twice shy. Give China time to trust Christianity and it will be allowed to flourish some day.

I don't think they like you coming to their country and threatening their way of life. You will have to go there with another purpose, and get to know the people by helping them first. Then once you feel comfortable with them, ask them if they are interested. But be careful, it can be dangerous in some areas.

there are churches and quite a few christians. it's kind of like buddhism in the us, the hip young intellectuals are into god. but buddhism is seen as some stuffy old religion. One of my students actually asked me if I could get her an English version bible she only has a Chinese one. I told her it wasn't originally written in English either but she still wants one. Contact me if you'd like to send her one.

No, I don't think that it is illegal to have/give babies in
China. But I believe they have a rule that controls the amount of children a woman or family can have due to the enormous population that exist there now.

No it is not because. they must have the right to observe their own religions. If the president or who ever higher standed person tell them to stop it China will be empty. Well who ever is telling them to stop it is crazy.

My guess is most likely. If I remember correctly, one has to have a permit in order to be a preist there, and so I would guess that they wouldn't like bibles too well.
