My tips are Brazil or Germany. I will now add Portugal as a dark horse with Argentina as another prospect and Spain. Italy and England are still in the chase but haven't impressed.

We are now in the stages where we can assess the remaining candidates.

Germany: Have won the World Cup three times and the home team has won it five times. Second most likely after Brazil.

Argentina: Another team with strong prospects. Definite potential finalist although South American teams have struggled in World Cups in Europe.

England: Haven't impressed although they have done what they have had to. For mine, it is difficult to see them winning it on current form.

Portugal: European finalists in 2004 and impressive so far. Might be worth a bet.

Italy: Haven't been that impressive. Should beat the Socceroos tonight but will struggle from hereon in. Weren't that impressive in the group stage.

Australia: Have exceeded expectations thus far as they were widely expected to be going home early. Still difficult to see them going all the way.

Brazil: Have won it five times and only South American side to win a World Cup in Europe. Favourites to win.

Ghana: Have played well but it will be a big ask to expect them to beat the Brazilians tonight

Switzerland: Topped their group with two wins and a draw. Difficult to see them going all the way although they should beat the Ukraine.

Ukraine: Done well in their first world cup. Difficult to see them going further.

Spain: Another team that has impressed in their group. Might be worth a wager.

France: played two scoreless draws in the first two games and another scoreless first half against Togo. They seem to lack the firepower to win the world cup despite Thierry Henry's club reputation.
