ny semiparasitic plant of the genus Santalum (family Santalaceae; the sandalwood family), or its wood, especially the wood of the true, or white, sandalwood, Santalum album, which is used in making furniture and from which oil used in making perfumes, soaps, candles, and incense is derived. Also, on the otherhand, in making aromatherapy scents, Jojoba is then used.
(pronounced, "hohoba") is very stable and has extremely good keeping qualities making it an excellent addition to many essential oil recipes. Jojoba is the best base oil to be used when making aromatherapy perfumes due to these excellent keeping qualities as well as having only a faint odor. Jojoba is not an oil but actually a liquid wax. The chemical structure resembles our skin's own sebum so when it is massaged into the skin and combined with our own sebum it acts as an emulsifier. This means it frees any embedded grime by gently unclogging the pores. Jojoba is also an excellent moisturizer for all skin-types even severe acne. It is also excellent for dry skin conditions including psoriasis and eczema as well as a dry scalp.
