I have a 20 - 25 gal. frashwater fish tank, that has a 4 - 6 in. long goldfish. So I need something that will get along with him. I'm looking for a fish that will catch your attention that you don't see everyday. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

There are a bunch of freshwater tropical fish that are wierd looking, but they don't do well mixed in with gold fish.
But there are some wierd goldfish. Bubble-eyed, celestial, red capped orandas (brain fish), or fancy pom-pom goldfish.

As for the tropical ones: black ghost knife, african butterfly, glass ghost catfish, snowflake eel, baby whales, dragon fish, arowana, clown knife. peacock eel, glass eel, red belly pacu, upsidedown catfish, reed fish

My advice is to first move your goldfish into a pond. They need about 50 gallons of water a piece, and will die in that tank.

When you get that done, your possibilities open up. In my 20 gallon tank I'm going to have four dwarf pufferfish and some khuli loaches. These are both unusual and interesting, plus the dwarf puffers have more personality than any fish I've ever owned.
