Black people can be as white as a white person or as dark as cocoa or something. Please, please, please don't take this as racist question because it's not. I went to lunch with a friend and a really light black person walked by, and my friend rolled her eyes. I notice this type of jealousy frequently among some white people, not all. This question isn't meant to offend anyone of any race, I'm just admiring God's art work on people.

To the jeffery person, I have to disagree with you on this particular comment you made.

"Well actually white people come in more shades than anyone".

The only shades I've seen on white people is white, pink and tan. And we don't even come in the tan color if you know what I mean, so technically that's only two shades. You know that's no where near the truth. I don't mean to make an example out of you, but you're the kind jealous white person I was talking about.

Totally! Aesthetic diversity is so cool! Chocolate, olive, caramel, peach, sepia, cream...they're all named after foods. I think it's really ridiculous how colorist some blacks are, how they think being high yalla makes them superior.

Yes, it's very cool. Makes me wonder about saying black and white, tho. I'm a lot darker than Michael Jackson, for instance, but no one would say I'm a black person. I have a good friend who has an African American mom and a Japanese dad. He grew up in a "black" neighborhood and he calls himself black, but he looks like a tanned Japanese guy and talks like any college educated person. I think you have the right idea of just appreciating all the different skin colors and maybe that gives you the chance to see that it's all relative and there's a person inside that skin that you can't know if you get stopped by the paint job. Bigger Picture: how does nature use color? It's always about blend in or stand out. You could be a green leaf among other green leaves or you could be a flower that contrasts with the background.
That's maybe a dumb answer on my part. Here's my smart answer: "White" people come in lots of different colors too.
Take care of yourself. That open mind you have might be hard to keep, but it's worth keeping if you can.

There are so many shades of color for people because there is not a single pair of genes that controls skin color. It is called a multi-genic, or polygenic trait. It also depends on the amout of sun exposure by the person. Yes, many people who are black will get a darker skin tone with extended exposure to the sun. It is a natural body reaction to the exposure.

Well actually white people come in more shades than anyone.

Why do we still use those terms? (i.e. black people, white people, etc). A person is a person. Just saying "a really light black person"
is a racist statement.

What's really hilarious is that so many prejudiced white people spend there summers trying to tan so they can be dark skinned. If they hate them so much why would they try to look like them?

The whole skin color thing is just stupid.

The majority of countries in the world are mainly white people (just different shades of white), such as, Korean, Japanese, English, Russian, Polish, Spanish, Australian, Chinese, Isrealites, Iranians, Iraqis, just to name a few.

I like the variety too. I like how some Mexicans have an Indian look and some may have a bit of an oriental look and some just have there own look. I think it is all beautiful. There are those who think different is ugly and they are to be pitied for blinding themselves to this artwork which you mentioned. Thank you for exhibiting this beautiful art.

God is amazing in how he create his children, but all people that you see may or may not be black. I've seen people from India that was dark and some that was very light. So as people we are a rainbow of colors.
