The measurement of I.Q.s is an inexact science, particularly with extremely high I.Q.s, as the latter are subject to problems such as small sample sizes (because so few people have I.Q.s at this level), as well as the fact that many tests are not designed to measure such high I.Q.s.
The type of I.Q. test would also be a factor (I wouldn't put much faith in the accuracy of on-line I.Q. tests). M. vos Savant has taken a few I.Q. tests (some more than once), with results ranging from 167 to 230; she values IQ tests as measurements of a variety of mental abilities, but believes that intelligence itself involves many factors...
It's always interesting to see how quickly people will spit out their "IQ" score and, almost within the same breath, qualify it by saying things like, "...for what it's worth.", "...it doesn't matter.", etc...
My I.Q.?... ;-)
kampech p: M.I. is an interesting theory but it's comparative value is arguable. M.I. tends to 'redefine' what intelligence is, as opposed to expanding on the classical definition and, given this, I stand with the critics of M.I. who hold that the theory is ad hoc.

Actually, an IQ test is not accurate. You really just get an estimate, but mine was above average in elementary school. I'm sure it has gone down cause of all the beer I drink ha-ha, but you never know, maybe one day we will find out that beer makes us smart. My son's IQ is really high, and my Dad was a genius, truly, he was, I don't know how I turned out so average. I am in college, getting A's and B's and I don't really give it my all, but, that may be that I like the subjects I am taking. Anyways, I have not seen anybody on here that is below 100, what is the dummy IQ?

I was tested at 137 by a professional when I was 17, and told to add a few points to it since I took the test during a personal crisis.
That seems to have been accurate... I have taken a multitude of less reliable online tests, and the average tends to be around 140-145.
The usefulness of the Intelligent Quotient, and its potential for skewed results, is another question entirely. But for what it's worth, there ya go. ;)

My IQ depends upon which test I take. I've taken many of the free online ones, and gotten anywhere from 120 to 160. The scales are all different, but I usually fall in the "gifted" or "signifcantly above average" category, not quite genius level. The only one I remember specifically was from tickle.com, I got 138.

I'd guess my I.Q. to be about 120. I did real good in school, worked my way through college to a master's degree. But it was in Ed. Need I say more- oh and I worked hard to get it. I guess I'm just enough over avg. to get by....

Probably around 145 and going down by the second. It used to be 160 when I was a kid. IQ doesn't matter... I know plenty of people with high IQ's that are completely stupid when it comes to other things like getting along with other people.

Mine was tested at 168, but since I have no common sense whatsoever, it doesn't mean much. Your life is what you do with it. IQ is supposed to represent problem solving ability, but if you don't come out of your shell and do something, all you have is a large body of trivia. Carpe Deum!

139 to 154, depending on the test and how tired I am. Not that it really matters. Sometimes, opportunity will provide what intelligence will not.
